If you have marveled at watching a piece of pottery being made, this is the perfect opportunity to try your hand at it without the long term time commitment. This class offers the beginner the basics of wheel-throwing. Learn to center, pull, and manipulate the clay into functional forms. For the more experienced student, we will cover altering forms and enhanced surface decoration like water etching. Forms made during the weekend of June 14 and 15, can be glazed and Raku fired in the follow up session June 21. $12 clay fee at registration.

Bruce Swahlan has a BS in Engineering from the University of Central Florida and is an engineer at Harris Corporation. He is a studio potter who focuses on wheel thrown forms and Raku firing. Bruce teaches Beginning to Advanced Pottery.
